Aspen Card Errors Impoverished UK asylumseekers




Asylum seekers in the UK use a prepaid card called ASPEN CARD to withdraw their £39 subsistence payments. In May 2020, authorities decided to change all Aspen Cards causing countless errors affecting thousands of asylum seekers. Most asylum seekers have faced hunger including myself and my family.

I have made this short film to give viewers a chance to look through an asylum seeker's point of view.

Aspen Card: What is in the oven? Join me if you like critical thinking and deeper analysis. I will walk you through the layers of the Aspen Card Crisis, most importantly the layers of our “authoritarian state pie”, that the media has failed to explore despite the fact that I have repeatedly exerted and risked myself talking to journalists.  The Guardian wanted to contact me.
