Aspen Card Errors Impoverished UK asylumseekers




Asylum seekers in the UK use a prepaid card called ASPEN CARD to withdraw their £39 subsistence payments. In May 2020, authorities decided to change all Aspen Cards causing countless errors affecting thousands of asylum seekers. Most asylum seekers have faced hunger including myself and my family.

I have made this short film to give viewers a chance to look through an asylum seeker's point of view.

Displaced Women in the Immigration Process Being both a displaced person and a woman creates different disadvantageous situations in different interaction patterns. Displaced women are in a more difficult struggle for life than both men who are immigrants like themselves and local people.
